On 14th September around 3.00 p.m. a fire occurred in Daniel Matriculation Higher Secondary School Building at Koyambedu, Chennai. More than 1400 students present in the school were promptly vacated by the Koyambedu Fire and Rescue Party which rushed to the spot on receipt of information. The Station Officer and his men used sand to put out the fire. The Divisional Officer and Asst. Divisional Officer Chennai City also reached the spot and the fire was promptly brought under control.
